Privacy Notice

Your sanctuary is yours. Here's exactly how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Effective date: October 3, 2026 · Operated by Sober Sisters LLC

Who we are

Sober Sisters is operated by Sober Sisters LLC. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Sober Sisters mobile app and website. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

When you join Sober Sisters, we collect the information you provide: your name, email, an optional phone number, sobriety date, recovery program, location, and anything you choose to share on your profile, in the forum, or in messages. We also keep a record of the meetings you save, the events you RSVP to, and your daily reminder preferences (chosen hour and device timezone) so we can serve them back to you.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to power your experience — showing your sobriety progress, surfacing nearby meetings and events, connecting you with other members, sending the daily check-in push reminders you've opted into, and, if you consented at sign-up, occasional email marketing communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email, and you can turn daily reminders off from your profile settings. We never sell your data.

How we protect it

Your account is protected by authentication, and access to records is restricted by row-level security so that your profile, posts, and private messages are only visible to you and the members you choose to share them with. Only admins can manage meetings and events.

Third parties we share data with

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app. Base44 provides hosting, authentication, and database storage — your account credentials and all app data are stored on their infrastructure. Google provides sign-in (if you choose Google login) and Maps for nearby meeting lookups; Google receives the data necessary to authenticate you and to return location results. Stripe processes payments when you purchase a Featured Listing subscription; it receives your transaction and billing details directly through its secure checkout. Our email service delivers notifications and, with your consent, marketing emails to your inbox. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and only as needed to deliver the service. We do not share your data with data brokers, advertising networks, or any party for tracking purposes.

Sharing to social media

If you choose to share an event to Facebook, X, or another social platform, it will appear on your social media as an event from Sober Sisters. This is the only time information leaves the app — and only when you actively choose to share it.

Your control

You're always in charge. You can edit or remove your profile details, saved meetings, forum posts, and messages at any time. Your notification preferences for direct messages and forum replies can be toggled from your profile settings.

No tracking

Sober Sisters does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites. We do not link your data with third-party data for advertising, share data with data brokers, or use advertising SDKs. In App Store Connect, this app's privacy labels should reflect that no data is collected for tracking purposes.

Device permissions

Sober Sisters does not use Bluetooth or speech recognition. If the app requests these permissions on your device, you can safely deny them — they are not required for any feature. The only device features the app uses are your location (only when you actively choose to find nearby meetings) and your camera and photo library. The camera is used for two specific purposes: (1) to capture a profile photo so other members can recognize you in the community, and (2) to attach a photo to a forum post you are sharing. In both cases, the camera is only accessed when you actively choose to add or change a photo — the app never turns on the camera automatically, and photos are never taken without your action. Images you upload are stored with your account and shown only as you intend (as your avatar or within your post).

Age requirement

Sober Sisters is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Keeping your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Profile settings — no need to contact us.
